Heartbreaking News

We have all heard of United Airlines and the many lawsuits against them, but things seem to be getting worse and our beloved pets are suffering the brunt of it. Just recently in Houston a 10-month old puppy died after a flight attendant forced the family to place Kokito, the little French Bulldog, into the overhead bin. United Airline had also confused a German Shepard to a Great Dane after shipping the former to Tokyo instead of Kansas City where his family awaited his arrival. Though this news is tragic, there is some good news; the 10-year-old German Shepard named Irgo is expected home soon. Sadly, the same cannot be said of Kokito and, though the airline has apologized, that cannot bring back the life that was so callously taken. These pets are more than mere animals to many of us that love them, they are our family and to think that the airlines are not held accountable aside from compensating your loss as if the pet was a mere lost bag is diabolical.

If you need another reason not to buy a puppy from a pet store or a mill… The SPCA seized 72 dogs and puppies from an alleged puppy mill in Canton, Texas after they received a complaint of suspected animal cruelty. 12 Deceased dogs were then found, individually wrapped in plastic bags, in the freezer. Please, if you want a pet adopt from the SPCA or your local shelter and be sure to do a thorough background check before acquiring an animal from a breeder.
