PUP JUSTICE: Dog abusers max sentence increases from six months to five years as Ricky Gervais says ‘justice finally served’

RICKY Gervais said “justice is finally served” after the maximum sentence for animal abusers today increased from six months to five years. The TV star hailed the tough new cruelty bill after a four-year campaign by Britain’s biggest animal charity Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
From now on, anyone who could even think to inflict harm on an innocent animal needs to know they could be serving a lengthy prison sentence.
