Pictured above are the two loyal service dogs that survived a hit-and-run that occurred September 25th, 2019 on Beltway 8 and Beechnut in Houston, Texas. Their owners, both homeless, passed away after the car lost control and careened into the underpass while the family slept, having only recently been evicted from their apartment two weeks prior. The dogs did not want to leave their owners' sides, but animal control officials were finally able to secure the dogs and take them to BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions.
